His Actions Contradict Charges

Yes! Sometime someone’s actions on the ground changes perspectives about their image. We often notice moments in life when what we thought about someone, changes after seeing what they actually do.

"Recently, I saw something in the media that made me think he had a bad side, which got him life imprisonment. But what he actually does, tells a different story." Yes, I am talking about Ram Rahim – spiritual leader of Dera Sacha Sauda.

These days media only focuses on making the story spicy and interesting to viewers without ensuring its authenticity. It is doing everything else except the true journalism. These TRP games changed the journalism ethics from being rational to ridiculous. Authenticity is getting faded these days.

In today’s world, we normally make our perspective based on the news circulating in the digital and paper media. And, on the other hand, there is another world existing with facts and authenticity away from us.

One day, I got to know that somewhere in Punjab, there is one family, who donated 9-month-old deceased body of their child to PGI Chandigarh for the research purposes. Watching my 5-year-old baby playing near me, I got a thought that how big heartedly they’ve done this, what made them think, to do so? And on further findings, I got to know that they’re the follower of Dera Sacha Sauda, whose leader is in jail for the judgment back in 2017 for the rape charges. Well, there is this universal saying that "no one can give what they do not have" (a person can only give kindness if they possess kindness).

Not just this much his followers donate blood, donate food, donate clothes, donate houses to live, donate eyes, donate kidneys that too while being alive, keep foods for birds and animals, marrying the prostitutes, saving millions of lives by helping them during illness and the list goes on. Most surprisingly they take care the mentally retarded people and post treatment, handing them back to their family. I mean do I’ve time for this all? My answers will be a big ‘NO.’

Now question arises do really a criminal mind can give thoughts to the millions to serve the society? And, here my mind double-thinks of believing the media without questioning. On one side there is media which is losing credibility day by day, and on the other side, these followers of Dera Sacha Sauda, socially being the game changer, widely appreciated by the society continue doing the humanitarian work. Even on experiencing millions of the displeasing words from the world, continuing to be the believer of such a saint, who is been proven criminal by the court, is really unbelievable.

It is hard to ignore the facts. Few questions arise, why these followers are still following him, telling all his followers are blind folded, will not justify the answer, if millions of Baba Ram Rahim’s follower still doing humanitarian services, then he himself would’ve been the inspiration for those millions. And if his actions speak then this contradicts the charges on him as again one cannot give what he didn’t have.

Sometimes what we see or hear doesn’t seem to be true but the realisation takes time. In today’s time it is very hard to let a very few minds to convince about your notions, on the contrary one’s appeal just let the millions of people to participate in mega cleanliness campaign, to plant the sapling, to make the efforts for a drug free society, to take care of those who’re physically handicapped and getting married to them etc., where the list of his works for the welfare of humanity is so far beyond, what one can even imagine.

I am sure now, many will agree to the point that a criminal mind can’t even think of doing this much of welfare and humanitarian works consistently for over decades, then how come he can even think of doing such heinous things leading millions of followers behind him. Here again, comes the thought that his actions contradict the charges. Well either in the time of Ramayan or in the time of Mahabharata examples says that truth struggles the time. Later, after the realization society believes, but with nothing in the hand. Realisation needs the fact and facts change narration. In this era, where stories spread quickly, situations change far faster than in earlier times.

Conclusion

Sometimes, our views change when we see real actions on the ground. I am of the opinion that what the media said about Baba Ram Rahim, but later I saw many of his followers doing large humanitarian scale work on a consistent basis. This made me realize that media stories can shape our opinions but we should check the facts ourselves instead of reaching to a judgement.
